PG; The Face of Boe character study
This fic portrays a character who is, by virtue of his incredible age, almost incomprehensible--and portrays it amazingly well. As the Face of Boe looks back over his life, how much he has forgotten and how much he remembers, we get a real sense of what eternity might mean.
rm 's vision of the FoB is haunting and nuanced and basically gave me shivers.
What I'd really write home about, if I had to pick one thing, is the language of this fic: there's something amazing done with sentence fragments, with the use of 'then' and past-tense verbs. 'Cruel gift of much forgetting'...
